Sure there have been plenty of servers that do that. But its not something for here. Jump shooting is a perfectly valid play style.

One thing people need to keep in mind is that difficulty levels should keep pace with skill. When bunny hopping and making kills becomes too easy and rote because people have simply gotten very good at it then perhaps its time to make it a little harder. Kind of like playing CoD SP games. If you completed the last time on 'easy' are you done with it? Or do you bump the difficulty up to 'normal' and play again? One thing you dont ever want a server to become is 'routine'. Change things up to make it fresh. Dont let the chaos become stale. Some things will work and be fun, some things will not.

I would like to think that a lot of people come here because there are a lot of unique features. Especially the streaks. People love their streaks. But also because the rules arent draconian and pretty open so long as you arent a cheater and/or abusive to other players. And of course there is no substitute for good admins. Its also in my humble opinion probably the most advanced version of freezetag out there. So I doubt any update is going to empty the server.

As for a 'winning thing', remember how some people whined like little babies when the server was 'forced' to the current 1.46 version? At that time, the old version was 'the best'. Despite the bugs and significantly worse map compatibility. New isnt always better. Then again, neither is old.

The defrost airburster strike was revisited as a stand-alone streak award. Not as an expansion of the mininuke that both defrosts and kills. There are already enough complaints about the car.

true that.   that is why  people come to our server   and it is a fact that cod4 is slowly dying out   lots  of our own moved on to other games then cod   and  look at server 1  it is not as populated euro time  anymore  and that used to be the other way around.  

and for the old mod   the gameplay in that mod was way better  but you are right  maybe  new is not something bad   ESC of F4H  servers have that where you cant shoot and  jump  or god forbid do a dolphin dive  server one is more hardcore.   i  really like the way the MW2 server is right know   you created the perfect mod already  no need for an update that will  completely change the game as it is right know.   

changing perks changing weapons  will change everything  but  if we do must  change something  why not   start with  exploring new rotations   new maps  more compatibility with the old maps we cant run so i hear.   that would be a good update to the server maybe  other host where  we can run better admin tools  on the servers.

Only three changes I would like to see to the current MOD (if I were king and you had to all listen to me):

1) Change to the car so it thaws only or explodes and kills only, but doesn't do both

2) Do the same for the pred - make a "defrost" version that lets you thaw one player out if you want.  Most people use the pred for the 6 seconds of spawn pro anyway

3) And last, but most important, BRING BACK THE DOUBLE BARREL SHOTGUN!

Thank you Kill. This is the appropriate place for a topic like this.

I don't play on MW2 much, so I'll leave that for others.

I will say that the P90 in the hands of an expert (like Sally) is awesome! We could all make those same shots, IF we practiced and perfected it as she has.

Everyone has bits that they don't like, tubers, claymores, shotties, sniper, whatever. I applaud you for bringing it to the forums and in true XI fashion everyone has their say.

Going to do my best to get 1.47 beta online for people to play.  Going to be a busy week packing everything and getting ready for the move north next Monday.

Suggested to Rugger a new perk. Sounded like a neat idea to him so we are going to try it out. Its a little complicated to keep it balanced. And what is it?

Its called 'Heist'. Its in tier 2 (scavenger moved to 1 so 8 perks per tier). Some rules:

Once you spawn you can steal one killstreak, and only one, from a frozen player in that lifetime. If you die you lose it.

You must be in proximity, like defrosting or care packages. Same 'timer bar'.

It is a separate streak, not part of the three.

The frozen player must have at least one award to take.  If more than one available, the one taken is random among them.

You wont know if a player has a streak until you try. Also you wont know what it is until you complete.

Weapons disabled while you make the attempt. Consistent with other things.

Oh and yes it includes the tac nuke, *IF* you dont already have one. So you cant have two at the same time.

It might be a fun little bit of chaos. Or people might hate it. I guess it depends on whether or not you succeed in stealing a Reaper from Sharpe, or if he steals one from you. Might also depend on whether or not you succeed in stealing a nuke from the usual suspects that shall remain nameless. It might also encourage people to use them a little quicker lest they get stolen.

If you snipe, or camp from a distance, the perk obviously does you no good. Though you might be generous and another friendly might get it.

You mean stab protection? Funny you should ask that. I think its still there but there was an optional part of body armor put in for fun. If you knife someone wearing body armor, it explodes.

@Sammy And, with this new perk, can we steal the gamer's skill all together with the tac nuke?

PS: the good thing with this perk is that I won't be stolen a nuke ever... since I never succeed at getting one.

PPS: can you steal a nuke which was stolen from someone else?

Did we specify that you can only steal from the enemy? If so I think it should be

Yea an enemy only. It was in my original post but must have taken it out when rewriting it.

Players lose stolen streaks on death. So there isnt one to steal.

Being a separate streak you will need a new keybind for it set up in the controls.

I have only spent a few mins on this server (or 15 years but whos counting). I would'nt change anything except switch to the guns the esc server is using, they are amazing and sound amazing. 

 

And maybe add "FUCK YOU FRENCHI" to the console every 30 seconds or so.

There are a lot of nice weapons to use. However most of the time it comes down to having all the nice weapons or map compatibility.

Sometimes I think it would be interesting to remove all the custom weapon models and stick with the stock cod4 ones.

I don't have a lot of skill, but even I am bored of the jumping around with a Saritch, which is why I started playing with things like stunnahs, shotties, the SC2010, etc... trying to find more "fun" ways to off you mofos.
