Thank you for trying out the mod and then commenting on your feelings about it. I always get a lot of people that see a change mentioned in the forums and have never tried it and say they hate it or it’s going to ruin the server and they’ve never even tried it. How do you know if you haven’t tried it right? I will look into the time it takes to get into a car again and see if it can be reduced, also will check out the spawn protection time after a I’ll streak. I’m open to compromise if it’s needed. There will always be something people are not happy about, I could change things that would make you happy but it would piss of another group of people. It’s a no win battle I face. I could run a different mod that other servers run that don’t have all the goodies we have but that would piss off a large group of people. I just try to make the server a place people can come to and have a good time without getting their asses kicked and not hav any fun. I’m trying to equal out the playing field a little bit that’s all. It’s not catering to campers or anyone. I’m just trying to stop the great players from getting a bunch of kill streaks and owning everyone because their invisible most of the time. I still have yet to get one video of a hacker sent to me, but if you go on the server you know what you hear. That’s what ruins a lot of the game for everyone. Like I said above I’ll look into some tweaks for compromise.

@Ruggerxi is right, you can never please them all and there will always be a group bitching and complaining. I'm glad I don't have a say in these things and I respect him for taking the time to do all this. But over the years the changes/updates that took place on the FT servers seem to came into life because people on the server getting owned by better players. Isn't that just part of life, you participate in sports/hobbies/jobs and there are people that you beat, there are people that are better than you and a few that absolutely kick your ass. The same people that are kicking your ass are worse in a different field, and if you would encounter them there, you would be the one kicking their butts. I played this game for 14 years now and became pretty decent at it (dunno about the learning curves of the majority of idiots here how long it will take to improve) but in my opinion, if there are any updates being done, it should be to prevent the mod from getting boring to play after all those years, with constantly the same perks/streak rewards etc. And that update came in some time ago (with the defrost car, heist etc. etc.). Even though I didn't really like that update to begin with, it changed up the game and I started to enjoy it more again. This update (as many before) just seem to be born out of the frustration of players who are (simply said) just not good at this game and never will be, even with another 14 years of practise and 312 more updates they can come up with personally. Maybe it would make more sense to be able to hire a psychologist for an x-death streak to cope with the fact you're a bad player, rather than taking away the killstreak rewards where players fight for ingame and due to a lot of practise and required skill over the years, benefit from and win games. But as I said before...as long as an update does not force me to move ingame, you won't hear me bitching

This is a very good point. Often, when an enemy turns into a car, will be passed on so the team knows that there will be an enemy appearing in that location after the car explodes or timer runs out. The smart players know damn well that they are getting intel'd, so they use that 5 seconds to get the hell out of there to not be ambushed and have time to have their weapon ready to fire before they get shot. That's now gone. The ability to play smartly and use tactics is being diminished or even removed in favour of players who want to sit and camp. I love how you make it seem so simple. Try running across the map to find a safe place to hide before turning into a car. Odds are you'll get shot before you get there. And then you'll have your killstreak stolen by someone with the heist perk. Do you know how you get to a safe place without getting killed? SPAWN PROTECTION!!! I don't know how many times I've run into enemy spawn and died just to defrost a teammate. It's the most unselfish thing you can do in the game. I'm not looking for a pat on the back or anything, but I sure as shit don't want to have that ability nerfed. Bottomline for me: the players who play a smart, tactical game, defrost teammates, and play as a team are being told to adapt and change to accommodate players who want to hide somewhere safe and camp. I just don't get it. Since my first post, I've seen multiple people say they don't like the change, heard others in-game say they don't like it at all, then some who don't think it's a big deal either way, and only a few who think it's a good idea. Oh and Basil, who has accepted her position as subordinate to the almighty admins and is happy as long as everyone is nice and she has her wine. I'm down for a compromise here and think having 4 seconds would be a good middle ground.

The smr is supposed to be the g36. Which it was until these supposedly self-proclaimed good players wanted their cheat gun. So any complaints, take it up with them not that it will do any good. The hk is the m4. Make the smr the m4 and the hk the g36, whatever floats your boat. Seems some still won't get it into their brains. This is not a community project. Most here did nothing but play it. Which is fine. It was never something I demanded or expected of anyone. Developers still have the final say. Whether it's free or you paid $100. Your stupid comment about me not playing? Leaving aside not wanting to be around the toxic people around. It was because I was using my limited time modding, testing, bug hunting, and maintaining. For you. The arrogance and self-entitlement around is staggering. I have been told that I was the only major cod4 modder still left. Everyone else got sick of the selfishness among players and clans and left. In any case, there are a lot of posts here that need to be copied and sent to all the former modders around so they can have a good laugh.

I was going to comment on all of this since its out of my hands now. However, you dont know me. You dont know my motivations. Also, too many people seem to have zero clue whatsoever about the definition of fairness. While I had to think of everybody... and not just here or on this server... they think about themselves or their little cliques. In the end, this is MY mod and MY dedication of work, over years, and nobody elses. If anything, my mistake was making this a clan-exclusive mod and having any discussions with anyone about it. Instead I should have just made it and uploaded the server packages to some website. After that, I would not be interested. A mistake I will not be making again. Have fun all.

I'm right there with you on this. I'd rather play another server, but that server is only populated 3 hours out of the evening and I work nights, so I don't get to play there often as I would like. I need to find other servers that stay populated. This current mod has ruined the server in my opinion. It use to stay full well into the morning hours on the weekends. Now, it is empty by midnight. For me, the heist perk, trophy perk, time it takes to change to a car, and now the limited spawn protection after being a car, and several other issues not addressed, make this mod absolutely terrible.

all tho it is a good idea it also makes the spwn protect useless freezetag was the most fun when your down in a corner the other team putting presure on you but one or 2 smart players using the spawn protect to free their whole team a win like that is priceless. you talk about less skilled players maybe in killing but there are more skilled players using the spwn protect to unfreeze their team that knife cuts on both sides.

Well, with such a large population, you're gonna have a LOT of dumbasses running around. On the bright side, there's plenty of money to be made & plenty of room to move around. You can easily move to small-town America, still earn a nice living & reside with people that hold the door for each other more often than not. You choose well, become accustomed to people waving as you pass them. Don't watch the news so much, either. There's a nice quality of life, especially with ineffables considered, to be had here; just most people are too busy being angry to actually live anything near their best life. Too easy.

Reduced Spawn protection when coming back from a kill streak not the spawn protection that you get when you respawn from being frozen @Sikon you Idiot lol.

I know this is much more work but, IDEA: Instead of reducing the time, players respawn from a killstreak (or even death / new round) and immediately start to "fade" back to visible. Maybe with a Predator type cloaking that slowly reveals the player. But since the players can kinda be seen a little bit right away, they can fire right away as well. Just a thought!

Get ready for people with the heist perk complaining about not being able to steal as many packages because players won't be ranging out as far. Also, for me it's not so much about 5 extra seconds as just being invisible & being able to move to anywhere other than where I went into the killstreak reward before again becoming visible; the whole element of surprise thing.

I hate to say it but places like that affect far too many people into believing whats on them. Trump used to keep saying 'fake news'. To be fair there is truth to that. However he was very selective on what was fake and what was not. If anything was against him or his interests, especially personally, it was fake. Anything that supported him was truth no matter how outlandish and obviously untrue. His base never questioned anything pro-Trump, and would never consider anything anti-Trump, else they be ostracized even by family. And of course a great many anti-Trump people were the same and didnt question that side either. It used to be 'question authority'. That doesnt seem to be happening as much but does show signs of changing a little. Or at least too many wont question their own sides authority. But at the very least, it should also be 'question the information'.
