Retired early do to a knee replacement that didn’t go as planned. Im am one of those special people in the 1 to 2 percent range that grow scar tissue out of control. At that time I was a regional engineer for apartments covering 10,000 units on the west coast from Monterey to Seattle. Not being able to walk easily killed that job. But I was also a licensed GC contractor that did industrial and commercial work for years.5 points

Started 44 years ago at a global automobile paint finishing company named Durr. A German company with our office in the Detroit area, in 1978 I started as a production worker for one year. You might say I "discovered electricity" and transferred into the electrical department, where I learned & built control panels for the equipment. Started EE school at night, moving from wiring, to design, service and eventually hardware & software engineering (I have been the Electrical Engineering Manager for the last 8 years). The company branched into automation in the late 80s (Durr Automation), then automation and industrial washers in the 2000s (Durr Ecoclean) and finally we now do only specialized washing equipment (Durr sold us in 2016 and now are just Ecoclean, Inc). When I started, we were in primarily in the automotive and tractor companies, but now we're in MANY industries. I have been fortunate enough, through my employer, to have travelled to many places I might not have otherwise (Venezuela, Mexico, and many western European countries - Canada don't count, since its only one hour away!). I even met "ANIMAL>XI<" (COD2) in Aachen, Germany for a beer! Hoping to retire in the next couple of years! https://ecoclean-group.us/4 points
