How many people actually go to the Hospital or local Doctors office every time they feel a little sick? I don't.

Me and Mom both had a touch of the Stomach Flu a couple weeks ago. It didn't bother me much other than making me feel a bit tired and irritable for a couple of days. But Mum was pretty sick for a couple of days and it took a little over a week for her to feel better. Neither one of us complained about it much or went to the doctors. Best thing to do is Keep hydrated and rest if you get the Flu.

And Don't go to the doctors office and cough and sneeze and spread it to everyone in the fucking waiting room. Don't go out to eat and cough all over someones food 10+ feet away. Just stay at home and rest. If you can, Send someone that is not sick to pick up any medications or groceries that you might need.  That's 1 reason that I do NOT like Doctors offices or Hospitals. There is ALWAYS some dipshit with a Cold or the Flu that's sitting in the waiting room coughing and sneezing and spreading there shit to everyone. You can get sick even by touching the damn door handle or seats in the waiting room that someone with the Flu coughed all over. 

 

This is why this new shit is spreading and will continue to spread. It spreads like the common cold or the Flu. If you can handle the Flu without any complications then you are more than likely part of the 98% that will survive this new shit if you contract it.           

 

The problem with constantly using an anti bacterial every time you touch something or washing every time you get a bit of dirt on your hands is that your body does not have a chance to build up a Resistance to a Germ or Virus if you ever come in contact to 1. When some super Flu bug pops up you will get extremely sick because your body will have very little resistance to it.  Let your Kids go out and play in the Dirt or swim in the Sewer infested Creek so that they can build up there immune system. Without a healthy Immune system, every little bug will make them very sick.

The Aztec Empire fell victim to a bug brought over on boats from European settlers in 1545. It killed over 15 million people because the Aztecs were an isolated people and have never had any contact with outsiders before. There immune systems had no way to deal with the sickness. Scientists are now saying that it could of been a strain of salmonella that did them in.

People need to get over them selves. It was a remark, simply stating the origin of this bug (being China and Kung-Fu "Chinese martial arts" which also originated in China) and it being spread much like the Flu.

It's definitely kicking peoples asses like Kung-Fu. Absolutely Brilliant comment with no intent on being Raciest if you ask me. 

 

Guessing she's not a big fan of Kung-Fu?

In my original post 15 days ago, I made a good faith effort to convey the gravity of the situation in front of us in order to try and help motivate people to make preparations for what was coming. In many of the replies to that post, people have been dismissive and in several cases, exhibited an attitude that I would describe as dangerous to the rest of society. It’s entirely possible that some of those people have acted in a way, over the last 15 days, that may ultimately lead to others getting infected and dying. This will be my last post on the subject. I actually hope I turn out to be fantastically wrong about how this pandemic ultimately plays out.

I have monitored the statistics myself since your post, they may not be accurate as I can only use numbers in the news. What I see, in Europe at the moment, is a death rate of around 4%, 3.7- 3.9 UK and others, 4.6% Italy, we'll see how it pans out over the next week, no pun intended.

Talk to us nicely and we can have a discussion not a fight, we appreciate your concerns believe me.

So what your saying is that some of the things I have said and others have said have lead to others getting infected and dying? Well fuck you then. I am sure you are sitting at home with your 5000 rolls of toilet paper trying to find ways to belittle people. I have been working over 12 hours a day doing shipping for FEMA and doing shipping for hand sanitizer and other essentials to help the public. I have also been doing grocery shopping for neighbors and elderly that are to afraid to go out. You go off on people. You call them stupid MF'ers and its our fault that people are dying? I hope we never meet in person for I would love for you to tell me to my face that I am the reason for people dying.

Unless you advocated that everyone start living in a bubble two months ago this is the case. There are several explicit posts in this thread of people saying things that will lead to greater infection, and if hospitals are overrun, potentially more deaths. This isn't a black or white issue though, it's a continuum.

I know several direct family members that share this sentiment. I can see where it is coming from. I don't believe we should do nothing however, but at the same time think things are going too far. Like @Timmah! said earlier in this thread, "Meanwhile, 25,000 people die EVERY DAY from starvation... every day.  Where's the media coverage?  Not so much, eh?"

While we should try to ease the burden on the hospitals as best we can, putting everyone on lockdown, making millions unemployed, and massively disrupting supply chains in the end may make things worse in the long run.

All these people living paycheck to paycheck, well, no more paychecks. We have, I think, 10 people known to be infected in my entire county of nearly half a million. Yet we are all now on 'stay at home' orders. Also doesnt help when we have a governor openly saying 20 million people in this state will be infected based on 'projections'. Numbers dont lie, they say. But such numbers also assume they dont use garbage data to arrive at them or ignore things that dont support a desired outcome.

If we all took basic precautions, avoided unnecessary travel, followed strict health and hygiene practices, and avoided doing things more likely to make others sick (all these things we ALL should be doing every flu season) then all of this would be manageable without drastic measures. That said, there are far too many people that dont do this either because they think it requires too much effort, cramps their style, or they dont care. It doesnt help with the double standard that says we are on a virtual lock down but its still ok for you to go out and use your skateboard so long as you stay 6 feet away from other people.

In the end, I will take all such no-brainer precautions and such. Both for my health and for others. But call me when the living dead start walking around saying 'brains!!!!'

Really hate to say it but an example of a stupid thing to do right now. Beneath my window an elderly woman is taking a slow walk... with her walker... aided by a visiting nurse to help her. The woman is taking a big risk going outdoors since she is among the highest risk population. But she does it anyways.

Just to show that while the ever increasing number of infections is serious, how often is it because people are not using common sense to protect themselves?

We have sacrificed 96% of the population from living normally, caused an economic crisis with dangers to peace and stability to try to save 4% who probably would have died soon anyway, that is a stark fact. Well I can tell I have been sick .I went to work felt like crap but no temp just a bunch of coughing so my boss sent me home and made me go get tested . I went  called my Dr they sent me to urgent  care in my  town but told me to call a head of time . I called  got sent to another person that person never picked up the phone and no voice mail . I went online and made an appointment . My Dr office called them ahead of time and told them to test me. I got there I was put in a room on the other side of the building. I told them everything and  was NEVER tested but got sent home and told I have a virus they have no clue what it is . I was sent home with a note that says I could go back to work when I no longer have a temper 24 hours without anything to help control the temp.  I get nothing while out of work and because the company I work for is a bigger company with more than 500 employees  they do not have to pay me . Job says they don't care about the temp I have to be out 10 days

This is a first. Got my 'permission slip' so to speak to be outside in case I am pulled over by the cops. Something I never had to even consider before. Confucius say may you live in interesting times. We certainly are. Still, what are the cops going to do pull everybody over? All you would have to do is say you are grocery shopping.
