The Government have just imposed new lockdown laws in my area (despite it not being too bad, but as a precaution) and I sense the peoples sense of reality leaving them, we are moving into a surreal world in experts minds (they never obey them of course). See if this makes sense to the rest of you.

The new rules ban people from meeting with others from outside of their own households or support bubbles in private homes and gardens, unless for specific purposes listed below.

A support bubble allows a single-adult household to join with one other household of any size.

Residents are also advised not to socialise with other people outside of their own households or bubbles in all public venues.

People can only come inside your home for these specific purposes:

where everyone in the gathering lives together or is in the same support bubble;

to attend a birth at the mother’s request;

to visit a person who is dying;

to fulfil a legal obligation;

for work purposes, including repairs and other building work, or for the provision of voluntary or charitable services;

for the purposes of education or training;

for the purposes of childcare provided by a registered provider;

to provide emergency assistance;

to enable one or more persons in the gathering to avoid injury or illness or to escape a risk of harm;

to facilitate a house move;

to provide care or assistance to a vulnerable person;

to continue existing arrangements for access to, and contact between, parents and children where the children do not live in the same household as their parents, or one of their parents.

BUT, you can still go to pubs and restaurants ?? All above enforceable by fines, you are encouraged to 'grass' on neighbours breaking the rules (I'd grass on the lot if there was a reward lol), the big plus side is that you cannot visit your children or grandchildren or anyone else unless it's at the pub, at last a return to gin palaces, drunkenness and debauchery, been waiting all my life. Now wtf a 'support bubble' is escapes me, unless it is some sort of support given to get you home after the pub, good idea.

Needless to say the general opinion of the public is music to idiots ears, as one they are saying FU, big brother is definitely here for good.

Can't have the family round for Christmas dinner, can meet them in our local Whetherspoons (my sister and her partner work there) for a cheeky bubble gin pitcher. Go figure.

What a different world you are living in over there Rob, our restaurants and bars are open and we’re going about our lives. None of that crap here but then again we would pretty much ignore that shit anyway.  The only places, in this country, with anything even close to that sort of draconian nonsense are cities and states that are very liberal. The irony of that statement makes me laugh just to think about it.

That's because all the rules @RobMc  talks about were put in place to keep him away from normal people - they don't apply to anyone else :rofl:

What Shiny says is right, you can't have a family Christmas dinner legally, unless you all go to the pub - that's legal, but when in the pub you must only 'socialise' with your own bubble ?? see how that goes with Aunty Marge after 3 gins ?

Don't worry Funky cos we're not going to give a f..k either, the madness lives on.

The real sad fact is that there are hardly any pubs left now, but you get served really quickly if you cough, get your meals free by asking for the mustard then telling the waiter you can't smell it or taste it, can't get you out the door quick enough.

The lockdown worked so well the first time, we need to do it again! Masks are also extremely effective, we need to mandate them outside as well! Next up, helmets!

Most people I try and debate this with in real life are just virtue signalling as usual and don't actually know very many facts apart from their daily propaganda from the bbc, they all knowingly or unknowingly break the "rules" in some fashion as is convenient for them and as long as it is socially acceptable (convenient for the rest of the mob).

I asked some people a while back what percentage of the population they thought has died from corona and was given estimations around 3-4% which is around 2-2.5 million (UK). Clueless.

For some great information on some of the fuckery that is going I recommend reading https://twitter.com/EthicalSkeptic It is heavily US centered but they get up to some of the same bullshit in the UK and elsewhere.

Seems very extreme and maybe a true knee jerk reaction. I believe in precautions that are reasonable, but there is always at time when some some stupid ass thinks I’m fine to drive and plows into some innocent family.

when they closed our borders here, all our pubs,clubs,nite clubs,restaurants closed( but some done delivery only)  no going to kids parks,no camping,no leaving your own area more than 60klms,1 person to go shopping,our small shops  was forced to close and never reopen,they closed all council pools and sporting areas. we could only leave our house for essential stuff like food or medical,we could not even have our own family to come and stay( was 2 months )we have been open since july now everything is supposed to be up and running but a lot of shops havn,t even open yet(gotta do everything online) a lot of places won,t take cash anymore.our borders are still closed to 2 states. we only had 8 cases here.I,m hoping the rest of 2020 goes real fast.

What gets me is how there banging on about getting people back into the offices,as the micro shops are suffering[ sandwich bars etc],trains buses, my missus works from home[ heart and kidney probs] has been asked if she would like to be perm home based[ she said yes she loves it, occasional into office].But on a Tv prog they started banging on home workers should take a wage cut ,as they no longer have have travel expenses or visit micro shops!!!! wtf!. But this is what gets me,they never complained  or were that bothered when Supermarkets/Shopping centers[malls to you lot lol] killed of the local bakery butchers veg shops,thriving towns centers, internet shopping[heres another for brits iff not known,Currys,but go online to AO find it prob 25% cheaper,Ao is Currys sister company].....As for these bubbles yeah fat lot of good they are, lockdown, persons aged 0 /30 rare effected very low death rate, and realtive low symptoms[ us wiser monkeys yeah but you can still transmit it] answer lets go party, send kids to school, little snot rocket transmits it to half the class[class isolates for 2 weeks], that then transmits to parents etc, teenage sister lets go party /Bar transmits to another 50[ could not give a monkey as they have been told they will suffer less severe symtoms]...so whats the answer,lockdown world over 6 months no interncontinental travel?,no we have got to live with it mask and wash hands is best we can do till an effective vacine is found,the way we do things have got to change or as i call it about time humanity had a reset on way we do things........on bright note where i live the most  infection rate we have have had is 18,but holds mainly at 5[ 3 towns included in this],as was put on FB Jeremy Kyle would not even come to Hastings East Sussex[its a shithole now] seems covid  tries to avoid it to lol

Ps wether China made this or not they knew about it and i think we should all write a letter[ yes paper and pen enevelope and psotage stamp shock horror!!!] address it to the chinese leader demanding a $2000/£2000 payment for compensation lol] over this,imagine 20million letters  arriving in the mail box for same demand lol

Oh forgot to mention, although you can't visit or talk to in the street any family member not in your household, nor friend nor neighbour, you're fine to go grouse shooting or the casino, gives a good idea of who is making the rules eh?

"to visit a person who is dying;"

This solves all the problems, from the day you are born you are dying, everyone dies...you are welcome.

Although I hated not being able to hug and kiss my granddaughters Or visit my aging parents. We were able to see them from the lawn or driveway for months during our lockdown. I was able to take bake goods or a cooked chicken meal to my parents to help them.

I loved not having to deal with people............let’s say whom one might consider annoying! You know those relatives, in-laws and people who just stop by thinking they’re your friend or some how you kind of like them! Best EXCUSES EVER sorry can’t visit, I have to protect my vulnerable parents,  sorry can’t go near anyone, you know I can’t pass this to my granddaughters! Wait here it is SORRY I HAVE TO PLAY. FREEZE TAG!

The following is a post I wrote for the ones that are alienated from their friends and families. I live in an assisted living facility and what I wrote I see everyday and experience it myself. I don't post to instigate people but to help others to understand that this generation is cruel and demented in their own right. Enjoy.

I wasn't going to post this but I am receiving so questions about what is going on with me. I have become so good at hiding the truth about the depression I suffer from and most do not understand it anyway. Every year at about this time of year I experience this slide into the low cycle of depression. I don't suffer from it with pain per say but my view of myself starts sliding downard as well. I get where there are days where I don't sleep then a couple days later I sleep and don't want to get up for meal time. I was sitting here pretty disappointed that the world is in the shape it is right now when a dear friend of mine contacted me and said she wanted to come see me. The state of Washingtion has mandated that if we have visitors it can only be two per day and we have to wear mask and stay 6 foot apart. The visitors have to call and make an appointment and other stuff that upsets me. We have never had one case of the Corona Virus here in the facility where I live. I month ago I went with my daughter to the hospital for surgery and we sit next to each other in the car. They tested me for the virus and all was fine. I came home to find I was quarantined for 14 more day inside my room. Okay then I felt like I was being punished for being concerned about my health. The management believes the reason we have had no cases here is because of the masks. Well, during this time I saw residents generally with masks but the staff didn't. I mean none of them. T^he manager was included in that facade. Someone complained to the manager and then it became mandatory to wear a mask anytime you go outside your room. With my memory being what it is I usually forget. Once in a while someone will ask me where my mask is but that's about it. What I am saying is this. The people here have families they haven't seen since the lockdown was emplamented just as I do. Not all of them have a computer with a wegcam to talk to their kids and grandkids like I do. Depression is at an all time high here right now and we are locked down where we need our families and we get a FIRM NO. My friend who was going to stop by to see me stayed away and I miss her greatly. If feels like so many put their elderly relatives in places like this so they don't interrupt their lives with the full time care some of us need. Then to be told by the state we are just going to accept itseems rather cruel. Specifically since we have had no cases to date here. I have always been a social kind of person so I need my friends and family for their emotional support. I am not the only one that feels this way. I see it in the eyes of my fellow residents. I do my best to give everyone a reason to smile or laugh but some don't appreciate what I offer. I am learning about the who and who nots. lol This is where I really need your support in making sure those that are feeling sad and lonely has someone to help them smile. This is not a plea for me but a plea for all the residents here and places like them. The struggle is very real and this year is the worst ever. Don't forget your elderly who are not with you. They need you more now than ever.

This is the new rules that just came out in Ontario Canada.

Ontario has expanded new gathering restrictions to the entire province in response to a recent surge in COVID-19 cases.

Gatherings are now capped at 10 people inside (down from 50) and 25 outside (down from 100). Organizers of gatherings in violation of the rules could face a minimum fine of $10,000 following amendments to the Reopening Ontario Act and those who attend could also be fined $750.

The new limits do not apply to staffed businesses or facilities, only private and unmonitored gatherings.

The expansion of the rules took effect Saturday morning and came following advice from the province’s public health team and chief medical officer Dr. David Williams, Premier Doug Ford announced during a rare weekend press conference.

Sheesh. This is all absolutely insane. So my facility 2 of my staff members have had covid. (From outside) they only had minor sore throat and body aches but tested positive anyway. We had to go on such a full lock down that even our residents couldn't come out. And no one in the building tested positive from these two people who contracted it from outside of work. We have lost quite a few of our residents. Wanna know why? Depression. Not being able to come out of their rooms or be able to hold their loved ones. Wanna know how sad that is to watch? Smh.

We have gone from this being local to nationwide with the threat of troops to enforce it if necessary, people totally mixed up about the rules, which seem to change every few days, our country will not recover after a second closure for many years, sad for the young people.
