Well , Lets do this. You have seen me on and off between servers. I typically play Freeze Tag but also play Tactical. I started playing FPS in 2007 and eventually got to COD4 and its been a love hate relationship ever since. Actually got so addicted that I even helped sponsor some of ESC's freeze tag tournaments a few years back. That was another me that I have not seen in a long while. I live near Chicago, IL with my wife 2 kids, 2 dogs, 2 bunnies and 3 fish. Well a sort of full house and I am sure many can relate. Well that is about is for me. See you online. Lane

Ok here's my 2 cents Wouldn't be a problem if EVERY ONE would friggin Vote. @ReaPeR very seldomly do you vote btw. Map skipping is done VIA a Vote. More than 50% of the people on the server at that time Must vote Yes before I will skip the map. Which hardly ever happens because a good 60%-70% of the people on the server Never vote. Unless there is only a couple of people on at the time and it still takes forever to get enough people to vote. If the server is full and your in Spectate don't bitch if you get kicked. I'm not getting my ass chewed out AGAIN because Someone complained to someone about switching maps or not kicking spectators. And I'm not kicking Anyone that's been loading in for 3 maps and never connects. Got royally chewed out for that to so

I would love to see ya'll, but that being said I don't have any funds to set aside so I will just stay home in my warm room and be by myself. Living in assisted living is great but they take all your money and then you get about $63 a month to buy all your necessities. That don't leave me much to set aside when I have grandkids I want to do things for. Though I do want to hear about all the fun and pleasures you leave there. lol

Because community servers like ours are always empty due to official servers getting all the traffic.

You can play on community servers but its just the way the main menu is in the game They basically hidden the server browser so many people just select a Battles server and the game brings you to one, 99% of the time they are NWI servers they bring you to In order to have a server getting that population too , need 12+ players for players to be auto connected when they select battles in the main menu

Yeah what Daemon said. I had a go at the devs due to the server browser thing and they locked the topic within a minute the pricks haha The game is still populated with constant updates and new updates, still a blast to play

DOI server was not killed, it was murdered by some game updates that minimized the use of a server browser. Such a shame since it is a great game but you can only play in official NWI servers.

I play all the maps I don' like all of them but this is what is available. Some of the maps have been shortend round wise that's a good thing. There used to be an auto kick for spectators after a certain time in spectate. If someone is down loading a map they show up as a negative ping when downloading then they go to spec. Oh and if you don' like a certain rotaton dadda said you can submit to him your own rotation of maps. As Forest Gump would say "That's all I.have to say about that"

Depends on why they left. Would making a particular map shorter keep those people in. They might like a particular map as a good alternative to the usual fare but not for a full 60 minutes or more. Maybe 30 at most. You can do best out of three also. Even so you are going to get some people leaving when they dont get that constant %100 24/7 adrenaline rush that comes with constant spray and pray in a small map. Its a tough job and we should all applaud dadda for the work he does, You have five people. Two really like a particular map. Three really hate it. And if those three dont get their way they leave. Do you say 'too bad' to those two players and take it out? Or do you try and make adjustments so everyone will think its a decent map and play it? Personally I cant stand mp_homelandsecurity with a full server and 9 rounds, but I dont think it should be removed either.

This issue is on the Client side (yours), not the server side. I understand you haven't made any changes, but parts go bad eventually and stuff can go wrong for lots of reasons. My most important question is about your service - Company/type/speed. Wifi, Satellite and 4G signals cause the most problems from my experience. Since the issue was on both of the servers (with different IPs) I think you need to do some troubleshooting to find the cause. I would do what Yac suggested above to start. Run some speed tests on different sites/servers at different times of the day. Call your ISP and have them check your connection/modem. I have had the same service for 5 years and have had the modem/router replaced for issues 3X. They are always on and eventually crap the bed. Once I only had one for a month before they replaced it. Let us know how you do or if you have ????'s

It's not that I CAN'T go to the Fest it's that I don't WANT to....I don't want to wake up in @wildthing and @Unchileno s room with a bad hangover and a sore ass!

I can not stress this enough.. the redirect will have zero effect on game play, pings, lag, or the like. All it is is a bunch of files on a server - doesn't matter where they are. The only thing it effects is how quickly you can download the map. After that there is no interaction. The redirect move was simply copying the files to New York onto a server and then updating the config on the servers to 'give' the new location to connecting clients. The switch back just updated the config to go back to the server in Canada. Other than the config change the game servers were not touched in any way and the change does not interact with players who are either already in the server or who already have the map downloaded. Unless an issues affects ALL players on a server there is nothing we can do.
