update last Friday they had to go back in and cus he had spinal fluid pressure and had to drill a hole from left to right side to see if it will drain . if not this coming Friday they do another mri and if not right they got put a shunt in . thanks for the prayers game help keep my mind off stuff.

You used to be able to use Punkbuster to ensure that CVARs were within defined parameters and if not kick for it. However it is now an unsupported application and as users can no longer install it without manual steps and as the Punkbuster servers are now disabled it cannot be used. We have only ever had CVAR checks enabled at one point in time for a few months and it didn't do much. I will not be a part of putting the last nail in the coffin of COD4 and this community. Duc

well havnt been on few days. my son went for catscan for sinus issues Thursday when they found a mass in his brain. he had emergency surgery yesterday took 10 hrs they think they got all of the tumor . but it might have started to grow into the brian tissue . he having another mri today . it be 10 day before they know what type of tumor it was.btu he got motor skills back which is good he can talk some. mixing up words but they say thay common with swelling. if everything goes ok he might come home wed or Thursday. he 15 years old and they said it was lucky that lab guy saw it on the catscan cus out 10 only 3 lab tech would have spot it since it was cat scan for sinus and it not a deep scan plus it focus around the nose but he spotted at top in middle of the brain . so that it . that's whats going .

There is a lot of talk about console tweaks and turning on punkbuster to "catch" people. I've never actually seen an allowed or disallowed list and what everyone seems to find acceptable seems to vary. Most of the regular commands that people use most servers don't actually kick for : cg_fov 80 cl_maxpackets 100 com_maxfps 125-333 I have seen and talked to admins using these commands so one assumes that there would be no issue with these. When we had punkbuster running on the server, these weren't an issue. If I remember correctly, punkbuster did however kick for any r_lodscalerigid (foilage) value above 2. Once punkbuster was removed, I pointed out to the admins that this could now be exploited. The current fix without punkbuster is to reset the value to 1 when you die which can unfortunately still be exploited. This could be adjusted to 2/3/4 to prevent this, but in reality I doubt there are many people exploiting this. If someone was setting it to 4 and you were playing on a map with a lot of trees, it would be very obvious. It would be reasonably easy to catch someone doing this. Something to bear in mind that may even give a larger advantage than exploiting lodscalerigid would be your monitor. Monitor technology has come a long way in the last few years so if you are playing against someone that has even an entry level gaming monitor and you are playing on something outdated, you are probably going to be at a large disadvantage. From my own experience upgrading my monitor last summer made seeing things at distance far easier, so keep that in mind. As far as lag goes, sure you get the odd person that is jumping around, but if you look at their ping it will usually be unsteady. Far more important than a really low ping is how stable it is. If you have a reasonable ping but it is jumping between 40 and 50 constantly you will experience a lot of lag. This is called jitter. It is also worth checking your own fps. The command for this is /cg_drawfps 1. You really want to be getting > 125 (the default being 85 which is criminal, I think insurgency default is 300?). I've helped quite a few people over the years that were down under 80. Even with a new computer and card issues can cause this to happen, so its worth looking at. If anyone needs help with this let me know, but time to run for now.

Numbers dropped during changes and DDos attack in my opinion.. Mw2 always has a great traffic.Its the folks that play the game..NOT the fking game it self, that make it fun.. P.s. Game changes are like life changes..Adjust to it or get run over . People bitching about the Duke are the ones that NEVER even got one lol. NOTHING wrong with RC either.. Yep it's dying.. we have seen the trends for a while - it's not a negative just what's happening... Check the player drop off rates for the COD series over the last two months, we have only had 502 unique players in the past week. The Punkbuster stats I posted had the connectivity info in there compared to those that had gone through a reinstall for example. The auto update errors are those that have reinstalled the game after the master servers were shut down, that was over 1000 affected players over the two years on those two servers. The 8405 kicks for com issues are for those that had COMs issues between the server and the client. That's averaging 11 kicks a day. We do make informed decisions where possible. Duc

But I play the game as the developers intended i never change anything if trees and bushes were put into a map it means they put hundreds of hours of hard work and thought into the map to give us an amazing game. For Me this is a classic game that was so amazing when it first came out why would I spoil it now.... And to be honest for those that do they have no skill they are not world class players they are just CHEATS who can not stand to lose. And the excuse of WELL IF THEY DO I WILL TOO sorry does not wash with me....As i have told my kids numerous times IF YOUR FRIEND JUMPED INTO A FIRE WOULD YOU BE STUPID ENOUGH TO FOLLOW. I used to love crawling around maps getting defrosts a few years ago from one end of a map to the other but now thats impossible because of people who feel the need to cheat and remove the foliage ..... ahhh i see...so cant we set everything to run default on server..so there is no console tweaking? i use console tweaks but its cuz everyone else does so i wanna even out..back in cod2 we jus used snaps and rate..thats it..jus wonderin if we can fix the whole console issue by makin everyone run default as max :cat:

This is an issue that is not only blatantly obvious, but seemingly only effecting this server. Literally every other cod4 server I've tried has lag compensation and hit detection that feels/plays superior by an order of magnitude. That includes the ACE mod server where I can blast someone with a handgun from a crazy distance while they are running 300 mph. What ever it is, something is absolutely decimating the way cod4 handles player v player intersections. I am still compiling 60+ gigs into a video demonstrating how off it truly is along with clips from other servers to compare and contrast. It just takes a long as time because I'm not an editing wiz. Still, go ahead and speak with the majority of players who also play other COD4 servers and games and they will tell you that they feel something is off. It is, unequivocally. On top of that, the time to kill being so low only exacerbates the problem. Nothing worse than spawning behind somebody and unloading DIRECTLY on them in a hit scan game only to not have it register properly, resulting in your death. The thing I find most odd is just how many people know there is an issue and yet everyone seems to accept that no one in a position of power will even acknowledge it. Either way, it seems to be mostly an issue with lag compensation with a little hit registration sprinkled in.

I have noticed some recent changes, and i have to ask something. Are we trying to fuck this server up so badly so nobody wants to play this game anymore? just a list of things that are just horrible changed - Duke is even weaker then the regular soldier, so what is the point of taking the duke anymore? - Nowhere there is ammo to be found, so empty gun... too bad just die to get new ammo? -Cars have 0 protection against being shot, so do not bother to defrost with them because they die instantly These are the common things i use, and I DON'T LIKE IT! Keep up the good work and i will move on as well, as did a lot of others.

The "last nail"? Is our COD4 community dying? It sure seems to me that the server is almost full every time I look at it. It also seems like every week we are adding a new member that plays COD4. I hardly think it is dying. The only connectivity problem I have seen is when someone gets a new computer and has to reinstall punkbuster. If we had a simple step by step tutorial for these people then it would be a non-issue. But whatever..........

BUT, it will limit the FPS, config tweeks, correct? This is what i have heard the most complaints about for at least the past two years. As a former admin, I'd much rather hear people complain about the not connecting thing much more than the complaints about tweeking out the foliage etc by certain players IMO

And that is exactly what i do not WANT?, i am at home in cod4 and in freezetag, i like the people there i like the game play ..... so i like the total package, we can have a laugh we can have a banter but in the end we know who we are and what we mean. Now that the gameplay is changed it feels like it is being done without consulting us, the regular players that populate the server. And with doing that, there is the risk that everybody ends up in Rust and start owning your ass, and we will have to hear your banter day in and day out ?

polls would be good things like top 3 thing out 5-10 thing people wants and out those 3 win what and how should be changed maybe? so not to much to do list keep it simple.

I thought It was just my luck I end up finding empty guns. @Sammy - I have to say we've made the mod too soft core. I was "ok" with people being able to absorb a hit, or walk away from a headshot. You do know part of the pull for this mod even after all these years was that it was very easy for newbies or not so skilled players to do well. Hardcore, meant you get shot in your toe and you die that's perfectly fine by me. This is not real life, it doesn't have to imitate that either. Sure, it gives way for some people to dominate but that's across the board so anyone can do well, its fair. Most of the complaints that people used to make about 1-shot kill, or cars all around for easy kills, IMHO; just sore losers. The spirit of this mod was easy gaming and pulling each other's leg or at least that's what I think it is, stupid silly fun. I just don't understand why you need to give armor or juggernaut or flak jacket. Heck make it instagib, so people can stop taking this game too seriously. Go play Insurgency or ARMA if you care so much about "realism". Noob guns are perfectly fine in my opinion.
