Sacramento Covid-19 Protest

It's scary on the front lines. My mom, my aunts and my partner work in the local hospital dealing with the outbreak every day. ____________________ Think of it this way: Have you had to bury a loved one? Have you had to turn off the ventilator on a patient because they couldn't be saved? Have you had to tell someones family "Sorry, we can't do anything to save them." ? That bloke you shook hands with could have had it, he could be dead next week or tomorrow. That old woman in the shopping center could be a carrier and might have days left. We've not been told to stay in our homes against our wills or the like. We've been told to keep ourselves and OTHERS safe. use precautionary measures. Use PPE, wash your hands, do your bit to help protect other people. Not just yourself but your loved ones. Those who are ignorant about it will quickly change their tone when they get it or have to bury a loved one or get their asses saved by the hospital. Hospitals and other healthcare areas are completely stretched thin - staying home and keeping yourselves and others safe is also helping the healthcare system by taking the strain off of them. Just be glad you're alive, be glad you're safe. And be thankful to those working their asses off keeping others safe.4 points -

Numerous court cases -- both previous and current -- clearly establish that in a state of emergency, the President of the United States along with individual state governors have the Constitutional and legal right to restrict travel, business, etc. In this specific case, it isn;t about a military action nor civil unrest. It's about the overall health, safety and well-being of all American citizens. The visus doesn't choose political or military sides ... it only chooses illness and death. I understand the financial and social hardship that this virus creates. However, only fools would contest any attempt to reduce and eliminate the threat. In fact, those that gather to protest are only creating a greater danger to themselves and the American public in general. We have only begun to see this virus in the real world and the deadly threat that it creates. It will only get worse if protests occur and politicians succumb to weakness and their overall lack of education, training and experience with this deadly virus and situation.3 points -

Are we surprised by this? Look at Chernobyl 35 years ago. The Russian government didn't admit to this disaster for some time, and even then there was no way to hide radiation fallout spread all over the continent. People hiding the truth goes back to when we played with rocks.2 points -

Oh, I have a suggestion. People can begin injecting disinfectants into themselves to prop up their immune system. I have heard this suggestion from the so called highest authority in the nation. If that's the case, have at it! See you at my emergency department real soon!2 points -

Question , whom are you really upset at? The medical data doesn't suggest an early opening. The consensus is outbreaks will happen and we will be taking a step back rather than foreword. That's from the medical establishment. So again, are you upset the government or the medical establishment, whom in reality only want to save lives. Maybe protesters should be picketing their local hospitals, see how far that gets you.2 points -
Have everyone wear masks in enclosed public spaces. Seems to be working well in Czech Republic/South Korea/Hong Kong etc... Not saying its 100% fullproof, but would drastically cut transmission without the need for lockdown and keep the infection rate down so as not to overwhelm hospitals.2 points

So the question ends up as its your freedom. We do know this virus kills. What happens say one of those freedom loving protesters ends up with the virus. After they say they do not care and it won't kill me. They hand it off to there mom or dad. One of them dies. Would it be possible to press murder charges against that freedom loving protester who said they do not care and they would not die from it ? With freedom comes responsibility and accountability. I see as an accident that scenario happening. But to do that with the knowledge that you might end up passing it along and killing somebody. Well that's what I call willful negligence and ya should be held accountable. Eye for an eye right ?2 points

Ah yes, natural selection how I have missed you. Yes, the financial and economic affects of this virus are felt worldwide. We're all fed up of being stuck in our homes, not being able to work and do what we enjoy. But give thanks for those working on the front-line day in and day out to keep the rest of us alive and well. I hate not being at work, it's driving me completely mad. I can't see my loved ones such as my mother, brother, nephew and my girlfriend. But, I accept that this is the best course to try and plateau the infection. If these sorts people wanna go outside and protest and risk catching and spreading the infection, on their head be it. If they get sick, that's their fault really. All it takes is one person to catch it in a crowd.2 points -

If anyone really believes that social distancing will stop this virus, I have ocean front property in Arizona I'd love to sell you. You are just a subject to infection going to the grocery store or home depot as you are in these rallies. Especially because people that wear masks and gloves have a false sense of security and 99.5% of those people have no clue of how to properly wear PPE and reduce contamination. The fact is the virus is here to stay. Studies have proven that the actual infection rate is 50 to 80 times higher than the MSM is reporting. Why? Because people are NOT getting tested when they are sick. They are NOT going to the hospital....because the fact is they don't need to. If you fear catching it. Stay locked in your houses with the curtains closed. That will only keep you safe for so long. 'Rona will catch all of us eventually. In the meantime open the country back up. Take common sense measures to protect yourself. Stay OUT of my personal space and for god sake wash your damn hands! But I'm only a firefighter / EMT....what the hell do I know (or what have I personally experienced)?2 points -

Seeing what's happening across the pond with panic beef buying Rob thought he'd get ahead of the crowd. Went out on my scooter last night and rounded up my own stock in a local farmers field, 1 cow, 2 sheep, a horse and a poacher, couldn't wait and slaughtered the poacher this morning, any tips on recipes? My plan is to sell the horse to Frenchi, who ate the last one he owned, then with the francs buy some wine and cheese, for the end of lockdown party. Plonked the cow on the front lawn, should be plenty to keep it going, already neighbours seem anti smallholding and enterprise. The sheep have been a bit more troublesome, my collie keeps moving them to different houses in the street, the fckr wags his tail every time ? Solved this by disguising them as zebras with a bit of paint, collie lost interest but the local kids think I've opened a zoo. Solved this by telling their parents that I'm Jimmy Savilles brother. Now I just need a cabbage patch, wheres my old dollies ?????2 points -

I've been playing with you enough lately, figured I'd go ahead and introduce myself. My serious PC gaming days started way back with Ultima I (grew up in the same neighborhood with Garriott). However. it all started with a Sear's branded game of pong. Fast-forward 40-something years and here we are today. In semi-recent history, I've been playing COD4 on and off since it was released. Played a few others, but always end up back here. Personally, I've been married for 27+ years and now that the kid closing out college (once they are allowed to go back, that is), the wife travels with me for work when the location is somewhere she thinks would be joyous. To narrow that down, if a Disney location is nearby, she is going with me. See you out there! --Cerb1 point

Very fun to be back and even with my very high ping I am loving the sniper maps with my 32 inch LED curved monitor. Just need to find the right in game resolution settings, I am currently running it at 1600X900. Anyone have any suggestions that will make my gaming better, no BS ideas please or you will just piss me off for no good reason hahahahaha1 point -
