Many of you will be aware that, following a cardiac arrest in October 2018, I suffered an acquired brain injury, firstly described as a stroke but, after a formal complaint about my lack of treatment, modified to a hypoxic brain injury. Basically, this means my brain was deprived of oxygen for 15 minutes causing permanent damage. I had to stand down from Admin duties as my perception of reality was different to an uninjured person's and I was prone to seeing things. I was provided with no therapy or rehab to assist me and my online games proved invaluable in measuring how badly I had been affected. I was half as good as I was pre-cardiac arrest but I thought I could improve with further practice. Sadly, this has not been the case and I am just serving as a slow-moving target to my fellow players. Like my daily Scrabble playing online, that I gave up last year, I must step away from the battlefield now and spend my time on more enjoyable and productive pursuits that are less destructive to my battered ego. This understanding has come slowly and only with the help of Headway, The Brain Injury Association of which I am now a "Friend". I would like to thank you all for your friendship and understanding as I have fought this personal battle. However, it is one I cannot win so I must go gracefully. I am not hanging up the tags, having worn them for over a decade - 11 years this month - but you will not be seeing me in the games servers much if at all. Farewell.

Hey there, I was itching to replace my old faithful Intel i7 4770K OC'd t0 4.0GHz (mild), 16GB of DDR3 1600mhz and GTX1070. It has not been passed on to my wife. I finally managed to find an Asus RTX 3070 Tuf OC in a local shop on the West coast. If you follow the hardware scene, you know that its been super hard to find the Nvidia RTX 3000-series cards since launch. Scalpers have jumped on them, re-selling on E-bay for twice the card's worth. And/or miners cut deals with manufacturers to buy bulk and availability for the gamers have been very problematic. Because shops dont want to say no and want to keep customers happy, they dont want to sell all their cards to crypto miners, they want to sell to peeps that order other parts from them, aka a pre-built. I like to build my own, but this time, its was a little bit different. This is what i got, had good prices for what it is. I splurged too much on the motherboard, but its both a beauty and a beast. Beautiful beast lol. I probably won't push it to its limits right now, but its got room for overclocking in the future. 10700K, closed-loop 240mm Lian Li water cooler, 32 GB of Kingston Fury 3200mhz CL16, RTX 3070, MSI Z490 ACE motherboard, coolermaster H500 case with a good Corsair RM850x power supply. SSD is a 1TB Samsung 970 EVO PLUS NVME drive. Can't complain! There is always something new around the corner (aka z590 and Intel 11th gen, or ryzen 5000 (unavailable)), so yes I could have waited for something new, but with covid, its hard to find parts at launch without being price-gouged or suffer from early adopter fallouts. The picture doesn't look too nice, and the protective film on the case window is still on. I will remove it once I move into my new home. Your thoughts?

An early print from my delta

I have had two 3D printers, a Robo 3D Cartesian and currently an FLsun Delta. Learn everything you can about the mainboard and the software options for it, then say if it's Marlin learn everything you can about marlin and which commands your mainboard supports. Bed leveling and proper Z-offset are the first two things to master. Don't go berserk with printing "upgrades" for the machine right away. Learn it first as I've found about half of the "upgrades" are more of an excuse to print something because you've run out of ideas and don't really help you print better. There should be a FB group or hopefully a forum for your particular machine, these will be the most helpful places to seek advice specific to it. There should also be YouTube videos for repair and maintenance. As far as filament goes Make sure you're buying the right size for your printer. Hatchbox Wood PLA filament and Proto-Pasta PLA are two of my favorite PLAs, eSun & Amazon brand are decent. PETG is a matter of what's on sale and what you plan on doing with it, some blends are brittle and don't take impact or flex well like a PETG should. 3D Solutech, Tianse and YOYI brands always work well for me. Flexible filaments like TPU/TPE work best if you print slower. If you want to do ABS or Nylons you will need an enclosure or tent around the printer for best results, they tend to warp. Most of all in the beginning you will need Patience. A nozzle clog 18 hours into a 35 hour print is a mofo, but it happens, you change your nozzle or needle it out start over and move on. The only brand of filament I've consistently had problems with is Inland.

I agree with sally being a great player,,,,,,, but the admin part......well using admin hacks to her advantage.... sally is a great admin and player. always the first to greet people when entering the server. always on hand to help with any issues. always fun on the server. with sally, t-rat and all the others. just a shame we don't share the same time zone.

Ok...so I want to know if anyone else has noticed this. It's a phenomenon I call "The Sally Effect" and unfortunately @Sally isn't around to notice it. Whenever @Sally leaves the server, everyone else leaves also. It's like she's the glue that holds the server attendance together. Has anyone ever seen a full server on freeze tag 1 where @Sally wasn't there? Asking for a friend.

I have seen it full without her. She does a great job as an admin. The attitudes on that server are usually very positive. It does seem to clear out around the same time nightly though. I love the stock setup better than all the bells and whistles of the mw2 server. I play both though. Is it a time zone clear out ? Possibly. It sucks though I like to play late. I miss the server 2 days that usually didn't start rolling until around 11pm eastern time and cleared out in the wee hours.

I was very saddened after reading how things have got with your health DJ and as others have said and others will say "You are and always will be a Member of XI (The Family)". Regardless of if you play or not just the fact that you are still here and fighting to be able to enjoy your life is a blessing to us all. There are plenty of dumb shits posting here that need you to tell them to bugger off and more. I hope that some how you are able to find peace and happiness with whatever you decide to pursue in place of your gaming but just remember there is nothing but old fucks like me playing on the COD2 servers and we are all just slow moving targets for each other so if you stop by for a game you might just see lots of easy kills. You have no reason to ever drop your TAGS and I give you my word I won't let anyone ever take them away from you if they are stupid enough to try. Many of us have been through too much watching this Clan grow into a huge loving dysfunctional FAMILY and after 11 years of being a great Member, Admin, Gaming Adversary, Mentor and Friend you have earned the right to retire with FULL HONORS. PS Rugger mismanaged the retirement party funds years ago so all you can offer is our Love and Friendship and maybe a few more Medals LOL. Good day, everyone! New kid on the block here. Been playing COD4 since it was released; 2007 I believe. I really enjoy the XI servers and how they're monitored well to eliminate true idiots and cheaters. If you see someone get shanked, it was probably me on the receiving end. I was born/raised/live in the SE United States. Love everything about this part of my country. No, I'm not married to my sister. Yes, we wear shoes down here. However, I can cook the hell outta some grits and fried anything. Hope everyone has a great Christmas!
