The last week and a half have been very difficult for me and my family, if you could please just keep us in your thoughts and prayers as my mom was hospitalized on Wed Aug 25th for her severe COPD and Pneumonia and tested positive for covid but lost her battle on Sat Aug 28th. I tried to make it the 1300 miles before she passed but was not in time. My family and I are so heart broken and now I tasked with finding a place for my Father and Brother to live so I will be busy for awhile. Thank You

Dale gave me a bunch of split tomatoes from his garden. OK, what to do.... blanch & stew! Cut a large onion & fried it up in the skillet with butter. Hamburger? Damn, frozen....thaw & wait. Almost ready, no canned beans on the shelf...really? I'm losing my mind. Clean a pound of pintos, bring them to a boil, then cover. Text message, we're going to the boat club, meet us @ 4:00. Um, ok, cover everything and get half-drunk. Return home, brown hamburger, put pintos back on to boil...& continue drinking. Toss in a large helping of chili powder, Jalapenos, salt, & cracked pepper. Add browned hamburger, beans when soft, then bring the whole mess to a slow boil in one pot. The house smells like chili, I think I'm having chili for breakfast after I wake up from my IPA binge. Happy Labor Day!

I work for a modular building company. Professional Building Systems. we build between 2-4 houses a day, they roll down a production line. Been there for roughly 17 years. I've done it all, from roofing, sheetmetal and siding, to electrical. I'm now a "floater" meaning I fill in where needed when someone is off work or falling behind. I began as a truck driver all across mid and eastern Europe. One day i met a guy on AOL who offered me an education as an IT specialist spacialization programming. After the education I worked for Airbus Germany developing the A380, when I realized rather you live for the IT or have a sozial live. I choosed the sozial live. I studied IT netwok administration and finished with a bachlor degree, but still had to invest too much time with IT business. So I quit. I wanted to be part of the life of my children while the'd be growing up. I started an education as an electrician spezialization industies and facility technology. Added some more spezialisations, such as repairing lifts, solarparks, electric gates and some more stuff. I have all driving licenses and 2 of 3 parts to be an industrial high altitude climber and high rescuer. I am a supervisor for contractors as well. Very interesting job, and I love what I do. I work for a big parcel service, formed in the USA with 3 black / red letters with yellow background. In my spare time, since my children are grown up (the youngest is in 11th grade), I work for a foundation which helps children from troubled families, young mothers (under 18 o older and raped), homeless people and refugees to get a grip on life.

Well, to start with, when I was in the Air Force, I was an Inertial Guidance Tech Atlas E and Atlas F ICBM's. I only had one bullet, but I could put it anywhere in the world with deadly accuracy. When I got out, I did a few different things and then did a 5 year apprenticeship with the Plumbers and Steamfitters and worked for 50 years either welding, pipe-fitting or plumbing. Got my 50 year pin a couple of years ago. My last job was 7 years at the Hanford Vitrification Plant running the Fitters Warehouse. Retired now, moved to Alabama and am steadily looking for places to fish.

Well I know who will be cooking for us at the next XI Fest!

I live in an open carry state. Meaning you can openly carry a weapon as long as its visible. Do people do so ? Not really. When I was in my youth, we would walk with our rifles or shot guns anywhere and it was not even an issue. But I live in farm country so it was a normal thing. Our local farm co-op allowed us kids to come down and shoot crows to rid them of these and other pesky critters. We were also allowed out of school for the first day of hunting seasons. Starting at age 10. I've been teaching my gkids proper gun handling and we target shoot when we can. Now we are a concealed carry state too. Many carry that way. That requires training courses and a license. Our state has on the ballots to make it so you do not need a license to conceal. Im on the fence on that one. The carry class is easy and fun to complete. And costs around $120. And they do a background check. But I see the other side of it too. Criminals will carry no matter what, so why punish us law biding citizens with a license to carry. But its a one day class and you get to shoot all day !!! Fun fun !!
