Thought I'd share that this past Friday I suffered a serious eye injury and needed 26 stitches to fix me up. I was helping out a friend loading up some stuff for the dump and didn't realize he had put on the trailer some scrap steel and when I turned around to throw some stuff on the trailer I caught a piece of steel near my right eye at full force of my movement. All I know is I can't believe how much the face bleeds lol. So far they the doctors are hopeful I will have a full recovery but time will tell. I played ftag today for the first time and Eraser told me Ihe could tell I was little off on my killing lol so I guess will be an easy target for awhile when I play haha!! I will still play here and there if I'm feeling up to it. Take care all D

Well he did it. My baby graduated high school and is on to bigger and better things.

I know what we need ............ Get rid of the kill streaks altogether......... Instead have Defrost streaks that way everyone plays the game the way it was meant to be and the ones who work the hardest gets the perks

Couple little changes coming up for now, they will take effect on the next server restart EMP distance is a little smaller EMP effect time is now 10 secs instead of 20 Reduced the jump height a fraction to help with the constant bunny hopping Some other minor changes will be coming soon, just needed to get these down before I forgot what I changed already

Thanks everyone!! I am doing a lot better ,Doing better today, the swelling is gone down drastically but having a slight issue with a little infection now and went and got that drained and tended too this morning. @MikeB the cuts were just below the eye and to the outside of the orbital bone area, I can't tell if its affected my vision yet as I have a gauze eye patch over the eye for a few more days, doctors are very confident I will fully recover. Hey now both of you young whipper snappers slow your roll, many of us old fuckers read the forums and respond to those that we feel the need to. I tried several months ago to see if there was any interest in a tourny or a scrim to help @BlackRose after a talk with @loaderXI and we got no real interest. We have about 40 regular players on the 2 servers with little over lap. Some like the DM in the Evenings and others just play on the TDM weekends in the morning early afternoon. Like @PainKiller said the group mostly plays just COD2 with a few exceptions and for something like this to work you would need players who used to play it wanting to download the game again and all the files for a tourney and a lot of them since many say they will play and don't show up. I say that from 15 years of tourney experience in setting them up, posting brackets, posting updates in real time, trying to put them on and not enough desire or interest. The COD2 group is just not big enough alone to support this sort of effort so I hope you don't let the lack of response discourage you BlackRose, you do great work and it is a tough job so I say THANK YOU VERY MUCH. @PainKiller stop talking shit about your elders, remember I was one of the first people to support you becoming the first Junior member of this Clan when many said "No Fucking Way he is a Kid and this is a Adult Server". I told them you were a bright young man who could handle us as we are and if your parents said it was cool who should we be to say no since you were playing all the time anyway and your Dad was a member at the time. Don't make me regret saying nice shit about you mate lol.

Can you reduce the time of the emp mine to 5 or 10 sec sec please ? it's too powerful And also reduce the trigger perimeter, cause it's working through walls ! O_o Can you reduce the number of hit with the trophees to 2 please? Can you increase the time of respawn after the killstreak to the old one please?

You are a true software engineer... BTW, If no one told you before - thank you for the work you put into this mod. You're right, everyone here probably has no idea of who you are. I don't. I only vaguely remember you from years ago when I was playing and you first created the MW2 mod. It was cool as shit and has given life to this old ass game over the years. As much as we hate to admit it, the game will die out eventually (like my beloved UT2k4). There will probably be a few that will always play but many of us have come and gone over the years of playing. I even took a 5 year break playing this game before. Remember the days everyone just ran around with the SteyrAUG (or whatever it was called)? Some of us got so dominating it lost some of the fun after awhile. But then it changed... and I believe updating and changing the mod over time will keep it alive. I believe keeping this a sort of 'community project' will keep people playing longer. Every change over the years has been loved and hated. Surely you experience this in your regular work too. Cannot please everyone. Don't let the people hating get you down. There is always a boss that had the final say no matter what everyone else wanted. If you would have kept the mod to yourself and not allowed anyone else in back in the day in I doubt it would have lasted this long with the kind of popularity it has had.

This is a very good point. Often, when an enemy turns into a car, will be passed on so the team knows that there will be an enemy appearing in that location after the car explodes or timer runs out. The smart players know damn well that they are getting intel'd, so they use that 5 seconds to get the hell out of there to not be ambushed and have time to have their weapon ready to fire before they get shot. That's now gone. The ability to play smartly and use tactics is being diminished or even removed in favour of players who want to sit and camp. I love how you make it seem so simple. Try running across the map to find a safe place to hide before turning into a car. Odds are you'll get shot before you get there. And then you'll have your killstreak stolen by someone with the heist perk. Do you know how you get to a safe place without getting killed? SPAWN PROTECTION!!! I don't know how many times I've run into enemy spawn and died just to defrost a teammate. It's the most unselfish thing you can do in the game. I'm not looking for a pat on the back or anything, but I sure as shit don't want to have that ability nerfed. Bottomline for me: the players who play a smart, tactical game, defrost teammates, and play as a team are being told to adapt and change to accommodate players who want to hide somewhere safe and camp. I just don't get it. Since my first post, I've seen multiple people say they don't like the change, heard others in-game say they don't like it at all, then some who don't think it's a big deal either way, and only a few who think it's a good idea. Oh and Basil, who has accepted her position as subordinate to the almighty admins and is happy as long as everyone is nice and she has her wine. I'm down for a compromise here and think having 4 seconds would be a good middle ground.

Hi All. I am hog from the freezetag server and I am from Wales, UK. Currently I am an IT engineer for Amazon UK and I am very passionate about gaming and networking. My other interests as cars and as a car enthusiast if I ain't at my desk losing badly by walking into people's clays (OOOPS) or knife in the back I am under the bonnet of my car enjoying my pride and joy. I also run my own linux servers as a hobby with hosted virtual machines. My partner hates all my networking ventures at home but I have it because I can and make it work, so why not Happy to see you all and enjoy the fun on your servers.

Hello, First of all, I am very appreciative for this group and the mod of COD it created. I know that much work and planning has gone on into the mod and that not all changes will appease all users. I also understand that certain changes are aimed altering the play to equal the playing field which may ruffle a few feathers. For example the lowered time after spawning from a streak or the shortening of the range of sentry guns ( I believe). I am cool with that, certainly takes some time to adjust but when you play a version of a game, you are always adjusting what works for you. they are big changes. my only real feedback is the M16A4 gun is gone and replaced with the SIG-556. Often I find that people select guns to either match the map or their style of play. when you have certain guns that are 'better' than others, players gravitate towards them regardless if it matches there style. this just becomes frustrating really. Hence the high use of the SMR. the SIG is pretty much useless or just not my gun. I like the long range 3-burst guns with good iron sites. Does not give out position as much and conserves ammunition. this SIG just does not work for me. Ended up using the G3 single shot but feel like I am giving up too much playing with it. So, I your evaluating guns to use, try to keep a variety of 'good' guns so it provides a match and a variety of guns within the game. I am sure you have stats of which ones are used and ditch the low usage ones. Also- some clarification on perks or changes would be good. I find stealth is different and that its not always giving you protection. I am sure their are reasons - just need to understand them so payers can anticipate and adjust accordingly. thanks again for putting together an awesome mod of COD. for me - best game ever.

Amen! The longer I play, the more I have to bunny hop to keep up with the 'good' players ... and I hate myself for it. It just makes the game about who can hop and fire the best rather than the accuracy skilz and strategy that should be inherent in freezetag style of game. My feeling is that the hop takes advantage of some lag time as from my perspective (on my screen) I literally see players hop out of my bullets that should have already registered as hits. I did some private testing with my son a while back and found the running hop worked but standing hop did not. I guess I should have recorded that. The point is that the hop takes place after the bullets have already left the gun and there is no way that the hop should be faster than the bullet. Again. I don't know @Sammy but I can certainly say that I appreciate all he did to make this mod and to improve it. Thank you.

I may be older but I still suck at the game I meant nothing disrepsectfully, we (myself, laz, window and some others) always talk shit about each other in the server, it's what we've always done. Anyway, As pman said, don't let the lack of response get you down, it's difficult to organise something on an older game with a crowd that is very much set in their ways as it were. We'll sort something out eventually. Just keep chatting with Loader and if he needs me to do anything he'll grab me on facebook or PM me here. A lot of the crowd want CTF which we've done a few times before so maybe every couple of months we mix things up a bit.

Brutal. Sorry to hear that, hope it heals up well for you.

The lowered time when coming out of a car or other kill streak is too short given that you are already visible for about 1.5 sec before you can raise a weapon and fire...which essentially means the way you recently set it makes you almost instantly vulnerable when coming out of a kill streak. I understand wanting to shorten it from the previous combat medic length...but come on.

I think the mod should come with a built in 'mute @wildthing option. That'd make it perfect

I agree with trailer no man can jump 6 feet high repeatedly and kill someone. It may be just a game but it is not a wabbit game even if I do like hunting wabbits.

We pay a lot of money for the best PC and then they play like Donkey Kong 30 years ago. Scheiss Bunnyhopper. Some guns are not well adjusted. Sniperrifle is out of Range and a normal Gun or a Pistol can kill me over the hole Map. You have so many disadvantages with a sniper then the main advantage should also be an advantage.

No one denies that you put a ton of effort into the mods over the years. You talk of arrogance in one sentence and then insult others saying "supposedly self-proclaimed good players wanted their cheat gun". Pot kettle black? We had an extensive back and forth over this a year ago. Your unwillingness to even try to compromise over the guns and insistence that anyone who wants very accurate guns somehow wants "cheat guns" is incredible. You talk of "toxic people around" but to be honest whenever this subject is brought up you refuse to see others perspective and instead cast aspersions. You try to make it out as if this tiny minority held the server hostage but in reality enough people spoke up and you were asked to reverse the change on the smr and you went off in the huff. Quit trying to make it out as if you are some kind of victim in this.

Everything seems fine to me. especially since you tweaked it, I am actually really enjoying it again.

If anything weapon balances as there are a few that reign supreme, overall pretty content with the state of the mod

Obviously for me, I do not tend to take advantage of the game imperfections like the super duper hop/or hopping like a bunny everywhere all the time, or the medic invisible run and kill other team from the back sorts of things (or managing to get on impossible roofs/ledges, hiding in water or things that are solid looking but oops can hide in there... I just play the game, whatever set up it is. I rather do like this particular server for the adorable cars, all the killstreaks of this and that and like that you can pick your own goodies. Plus alot of you guys are plain funny. At this point, for anyone who is horrible enough of a human being to cheat, to use cheats, well you SUCK and I feel pity for you and your life. What sort of a messed up person needs to do that? SEEK PROFESSIONAL ATTENTION, YOU ARE ILL IN THE HEAD. Just sayin. Back to this issue of trying to make some changes about this and that to the server, it is the job of the clan owners and admins to decide these things. Making things fun imho are super cool and thanks! About all those whiners about the heist perk, I like the heist perk. Those of you who hoard your goodies will have that possibility that your stuff will be stolen from you if you die, - USE IT OR LOSE IT MAYBE. UNLESS you give up a perk to prevent that. Easy Peasy. Wine wine wine... Most of everyone that plays on this server are fun loving, love the game, are having a fine time. And isn't that wonderful? Big hug NOW GET BACK IN THE MAP SOLDIER!

I'm fine with the new setting - less time in spawn protection, more time for shootin'.... Probably luck on my side, but caught fire last night and led total kills 3 out of 4 maps and discovered a hidden bonus perk called "Whine" when you do that...

Sorry Rugger, but why create a perk if you have to create another perk to counter it? That's totally insane. So no way I'm using it. If I use it, I will guarantee the futur of the heist perk, and I DON'T WANT IT ! my way of thinking

Whats a kill streak ???

Pretty big change but this is how changes should be approached I think, few in number to get a general feel and then reverse course quickly if appropriate. For the love of god though, could the issue of turning into a killstreak finally be solved? Literally everyone I say this to has agreed (although maybe there are those who disagree?) that it is very frustrating when you try and turn into an rcxd and it takes away your gun, someone appears out of nowhere and you are left defenceless. Sometimes the screen even goes black and you still get killed.

Is that all the time you give for everyone to see your post and respond to it? I'm just seeing this now. This is a big change and I'd think you'd give at LEAST a few days for people to see the post and respond to it. Before I start my rant, let me preface with a few notes: 1. I am fully aware that the change you implemented ONLY affects spawn protection from killstreaks, NOT direct out of spawn at the beginning of the round or after being defrosted. 2. I use Combat Medic and am 99% sure* they do NOT get extra time added to killstreak spawn protection, ONLY direct out of spawn. For killstreaks, it is 5-6 seconds for everyone, no matter what perks you use (*please correct me if I'm wrong here). Okay, on to the rant... This is in response to Sikon's thread about nobody playing late at night ("Hello, Hi, How you doin'?!"). RobMC chimes in, saying many have left because the server has been overrun with hackers. He believes they can add extra time to spawn protection to help them get kills? (never heard that one before). Then Jester mentions how spawn protection after using the RC Car is part of the problem (WHAT???). TL;DR: Sikon: Hi! I can only play late at night, but nobody is on anymore. RobMC: There are too many hackers now. On top of seeing through walls, they can add time to spawn protection. :( Jester: Yeah spawn protection from RC car is the problem. We should get rid of it. Rugger: Cool. Will do. So to fix the hacking problem, you want to reduce spawn protection from killstreaks?! Stating the obvious here: this is a team game with an emphasis on defrosting your teammates and good communication. The team that defrosts and communicates better tends to win. This is why I use Combat Medic 99% of the time and spend most of the game looking for frozen teammates on my minimap to defrost (and yelling at everyone to "GET THE HELL OUT OF SPAWN!" lol). On top of using the RC Car and UAV Defroster to help with that, I will use spawn protection to run to a spot that allows me to defrost anyone deep in enemy territory. This is literally the reason there is a Combat Medic perk - to have that extra time to get further from spawn/into enemy territory to defrost teammates. Another benefit of having that extra spawn protection from killstreaks is being able to infiltrate enemy spawn to take out the campers. I feel like many of the people complaining about getting shot in the back are the ones camping spawn surrounded by bettys or clays, waiting for people to appear in their scope. IMO, the two go hand in hand. ^THIS I'd ask everyone: if you're sitting there frozen and there's only one player still alive, who would you rather it be? The guy sitting in spawn, not moving, surrounded by enemies, waiting to get one last kill to pad his stats? Or the guy running his ass out of spawn, stealthily trying to defrost teammates to give you a second chance at winning the round? If you think making this change is going to somehow impact or lessen the hacking problem and bring people BACK to the server, I am sorry, but I beg to differ. It's only going to make it more frustrating to the players who are trying to help their team by getting to a safe place undetected to defrost teammates and take out campers. I vote to keep it as is. Oh wait...the voting is now closed.

but thats the same thing last guy goes in to the car or any streak uses the spwnprotect to unfreeze the players many mtimes i lost and won a game like that 5-4 in the sudden death a game like that is priceless but hey you must have many many complaints by these not so skilled players for willing to change someting that is there for a long time. you should make some t-shirts XI Not so good players lives Matter
