But yeah, I am here for work. I usually just say I work in education since I have a few different roles. I came to the U.S. as a visiting scholar last year, and I’ll be leaving soon. Back in Türkiye, I have two jobs. I work full-time at a university, and tutor K-12 students in reading and literature in the evenings. I’ve had more flexible work hours here, which gave me more time to travel. I’ve been to North Carolina, Chicago, Miami, Washington DC, San Francisco, Salt Lake City, and Las Vegas so far. OK I lived for 30 years around DC. Summertime the crowds can be large, so go before school year is out (Pre-June) best time of year tbh to sightsee DC is imho, October or if it is a cool September. Our first President, George Washington surveyed that land and participated into making canal locks so little canoes and boats could go around the great falls.
