Well there was really no way to get my wife downstairs so she could enjoy it as well. I hired a company to install a rail in the staircase. I picked up a winch at a yard sale about 8 months ago and installed that. She has a sling that I place under her to transfer from her bed to her wheelchair. Now I just pick her up at the top of the stairs and bring her down to her second elect wheelchair in the basement. Now once she is in the game room sitting her next to the bar is awkward as she sits so low and can not see the top of the bar like everyone else. So about a year ago I pick up a motorcycle jack (at a yard sale) and had a friend of mine build a platform on it. Now I can jack her up to every ones else s level. What a difference that made for her. She came downstairs for the Superbowl with everyone else. And now gets to enjoy the rest of our home. :-) The man that welded the platform up for me asked for some pictures. I guess he has a friend that is in a wheel chair and told him that they make a lift system just for a bar but cost in the thousands. This cost me a few hundred.
