What should the default website background be?

Currently I use the elegant theme, am I the only one that finds it impossible to read posts when image 1 is the background?

I had to scroll to a certain area of the page to see some writing

I use the grey image because when Im at work people Dont know if I am on a work forum or not

I tried the elegant, but its too hard to read text when people use colored text, else I like it.

I'm with you @Sitting- - Elegant FTW.  That said, I do like #2 and #7 and probably would use either if I ever have to go back.  Can you make the background a preference selection rather than an absolute?

 

 

@@OddJob001 - Before I found out that Elegant was a choice, I used to change text color to yellow as it seemed far more legible that the default color on the dark theme.  I think it was because someone bitched that it was illegible on Elegant that I learned of the alternate theme in the first place.  Now I just don't change text color for that very reason.  Everyone should strop and think about that for a moment - not that I don't change colors, but about the illegibility factor with certain colors, lol.  Red is okay for emphasis occasionally and doesn't look bad on either dark or light themes, but that's as far as I go.

im getting old, my eyes are not what they once were. After gaming all day  (my eyes a blurr)  its difficult to read with all that "busy  stuff " in the background. I say let get Back n Black

But on a personal note can we not replicate num 9 but instead use the beautiful XI Ladies and to help out the family I would volunteer to paint the flags ( very carefully and slowly infact it might take several attempts to get it right )

The problem with that one, which I thought I told you about.. maybe I forgot to.. I don't know.. crap I don't think I did. Sorry.

 

Anyway yeah the problem with that one is when I tried it I could not get it to fit nicely as it is the wrong orientation, also it contains empty space in it.
