So how is this?  I heard it is pretty good and thought about trying out. Anyone out there playing it?  How is gameplay?  And what about hackers??

I really like the game, however, for me it is terribly camptastic. I'm not sure how lucky others have gotten with not having everyone camp in their games but that has been my unfortunate experience.

Even though its not smooth until I get a new gpu, to be honest the typical gameplay is not much of a change from previous games. However I havent yet tried the 60-player one so that might make a major difference.

Lately I have had more fun with fortnight even though I hate the building of instant bases and such. Destroys the momentum. I would try pubg but too many horror stories of hackers and little being done about them.

I see some of the comments and think its sad that for me and many others the specs required will mean yet another pc costing £1500 - £2000. As this is an ever increasing spiral you are almost forced to cheaper consoles, I am the only one among friends still playing on a pc, they laugh at me. The sheer size of new releases in hard drive capacity, and video cards in particular are staggering if you look back only five years. If this carries on, and it will, you may need a new pc every year.

It is the first in the series I have never owned, or played, which should be a warning sign to all that the end may be in sight for pc gaming for the mass market. I plan to reluctantly upgrade my computer with the end of support for my beloved windows 7, so like J3st3r hope that prices will fall by then.

It may be great but I too can't afford it, and I'm not a poor man.

Lets start looking at a few devices that can run this then, my 2 year old $1200 PC runs it just fine.

Had a quick look on part picker and the recommended specs, looks like this meets the recommended requirements for £730 :

https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/Vqc6sk

Didn't search for too long so there will be some cheaper combos but I bumped up the psu for example. If you wanted intel you could put something together for a similar price.

Just need to reuse current monitor and look to upgrade in the future. Although my current monitor (144hz with amd freesync) is currently on amazon for £190.  You could also reuse an old ssd if you have one.

If anyone has an Nvidia RTX card (2060,2070,2080,etc.)  I have a code to get a free copy of COD MW.  But you have to run a video card verification app.  Once it verifies you have a RTX (20 blah blah) then it will let you install.  I preordered the game and got a free install via a rebate on my new GPU.  PM me if your interested.

@azzkikr I got the standard edition because I didn't think it was worth the price for the operators since you can easily unlock all of them from multiplayer and completing the spec ops operations.

Dessy - AMD FX 6300 3.5Ghz, Gigabyte  M'Bd, 8gb Ram, Samsung 840 250gb ssd, Geforce GTX 660 video, Asus Xonar sound and a 19" iiyama prolite monitor, cutting edge eh?

Also a 26 year old Logiteck keyboard, a £10 pair of headphones plugged into my speaker and a corded usb ball mouse (more control sniping as it moves slower)

I've seen players  with Mouse and Keyboard on the consoles too. That would be a less expensive way to get into the game.

Bro, the 660 gpu released like 7 years ago... Even 500 dollars, Pounds, whatever over 7 years is a manageable upgrade schedule.
