So I have 12 against the change vs 4 for it (with 6 don't cares and 3 unknown). That's a 3:1 ratio.

Again, I'm fine with a compromise here. I didn't want to get into it before, so as to not derail the convo here, but many have mentioned the time it takes to change into an RC-XD Car and I have to agree - it takes far too long and I have often died while changing into one, the screen even being black. Very frustrating...

@Ruggerxi So how a 2-step process here:

1. You reduce the time it takes to change into a car to 1 second

and

2. Reduce the time of spawn protection from 6 to 4 seconds

Can we try that and see how it is?

I'm right there with you on this.  I'd rather play another server, but that server is only populated 3 hours out of the evening and I work nights, so I don't get to play there often as I would like.  I need to find other servers that stay populated.  This current mod has ruined the server in my opinion.  It use to stay full well into the morning hours on the weekends.  Now, it is empty by midnight.   

For me, the heist perk, trophy perk, time it takes to change to a car, and now the limited spawn protection after being a car, and several other issues not addressed, make this mod absolutely terrible.

Thank you for trying out the mod and then commenting on your feelings about it. 

I always get a lot of people that see a change mentioned in the forums and have never tried it and say they hate it or it’s going to ruin the server and they’ve never even tried it. How do you know if you haven’t tried it right? 
 

I will look into the time it takes to get into a car again and see if it can be reduced, also will check out the spawn protection time after a I’ll streak. 
 

I’m open to compromise if it’s needed. 
 

There will always be something people are not happy about, I could change things that would make you happy but it would piss of another group of people. It’s a no win battle I face. 

I could run a different mod that other servers run that don’t have all the goodies we have but that would piss off a large group of people. 
 

I just try to make the server a place people can come to and have a good time without getting their asses kicked and not hav any fun. I’m trying to equal out the playing field a little bit that’s all. It’s not catering to campers or anyone. I’m  just trying to stop the great players from getting  a bunch of kill streaks and owning everyone because their invisible most of the time. 
 

I still have yet to get one video of a hacker sent to me, but if you go on the server you know what you hear. That’s what ruins a lot of the game for everyone. 
 

Like I said above I’ll look into some tweaks for compromise.

You want to fix a pretending pb of spawn protection after a killstreak? which is reward to kill people with straight kills.

But still, Emp mine is too powerful, stealth doesn't work good with clay, trophees got multiples turns, heist's everywhere so you can't use ur killstreak wisely. Not to mention the fact that the last second of respawn you are visible and that there is always a pb of seconds at the start of the transformation into a car.

This is why I don't understand the point of this new change in the first place rugger. Most of the attacking players are stigmatized with this change and the power of all the defenses and sitting players is not reduced.

@Ruggerxi is right, you can never please them all and there will always be a group bitching and complaining. I'm glad I don't have a say in these things and I respect him for taking the time to do all this. But over the years the changes/updates that took place on the FT servers seem to came into life because people on the server getting owned by better players. Isn't that just part of life, you participate in sports/hobbies/jobs and there are people that you beat, there are people that are better than you and a few that absolutely kick your ass. The same people that are kicking your ass are worse in a different field, and if you would encounter them there, you would be the one kicking their butts. 

I played this game for 14 years now and became pretty decent at it (dunno about the learning curves of the majority of idiots here how long it will take to improve) but in my opinion, if there are any updates being done, it should be to prevent the mod from getting boring to play after all those years, with constantly the same perks/streak rewards etc. And that update came in some time ago (with the defrost car, heist etc. etc.). Even though I didn't really like that update to begin with, it changed up the game and I started to enjoy it more again.

This update (as many before) just seem to be born out of the frustration of players who are (simply said) just not good at this game and never will be, even with another 14 years of practise and 312 more updates they can come up with personally. Maybe it would make more sense to be able to hire a psychologist for an x-death streak to cope with the fact you're a bad player, rather than taking away the killstreak rewards where players fight for ingame and due to a lot of practise and required skill over the years, benefit from and win games.

 

But as I said before...as long as an update does not force me to move ingame, you won't hear me bitching

I was going to comment on all of this since its out of my hands now. However, you dont know me. You dont know my motivations.  Also, too many people seem to have zero clue whatsoever about the definition of fairness. While I had to think of everybody... and not just here or on this server... they think about themselves or their little cliques. In the end, this is MY mod and MY dedication of work, over years, and nobody elses.

If anything, my mistake was making this a clan-exclusive mod and having any discussions with anyone about it. Instead I should have just made it and uploaded the server packages to some website. After that, I would not be interested. A mistake I will not be making again.

i never said i was against it    and was joking about the no so skilled players  the only thing i said in the past when i was still playing cod4  the best games to win are the ones where  people used the combat medic  and all the spawn protect to unfreeze people when down driven in a corner  a win like that is priceless   we all been there   .   i also realize that the number of not so skilled players has increased  and  people wine about everything   i can see where a executive decission has to be made .  my point was mmore  that the knife cuts on both sides  anyways back to coldwar and warzone.

I do not like 2 seconds.  It takes me at least a second to orient myself when I come out of a Killstreak (I'm old and often confused ... lol.) 3 will be better ... 4 seconds was suggested in game yesterday and several thought that would be good too.

<rant> I still don't understand the motivation for the change though. Was this to slow down 'good' players or to make bad players better?  I don't get it.  My issue is that we have a handful of players that are SO 'good' that they can somehow kill people at 3x the rate as the rest of the regular good players on our server.  (And don't get me going on how many kills in a row are headshots with some of those guys ...)  I hear you when you say make recordings, but those are from our perspective only and virtually useless in discovering anything other than vague suspicions.  I trust the admin team is doing 1st person specing and recordings ... hopefully with other game persona's to hide the fact that an admin is in spec mode.  I have mentioned the few things that I've seen from my perspective to admins here, but never hear anything back, so not even sure if they are being looked at.  Man ... PB days were amazing!  We caught so many cheaters in those days.  Wish we had that tool back.  Anyway ... </rant>

Will give the 3 seconds a try this weekend.  It probably won't hurt/help my game much as I don't normally use killstreaks to move my position.  Choosing where to change into a KS will definitely come more into play.

All this being said, thanks for all you guys/gals do in creating this mod and tweeking it.  I really do appreciate all the hard work and thinking that goes into it!

You can just put back all the extra seconds after killstreaks ? and it's fine. those few seconds are not enough, agree with yoshi up there.
On garena, most of people were sitting around the side of the spawn. And when you're using a car closed to the enemy, you have 4-5 guys around me after that waiting, some killstreaks became useless then lol. Better wait around spawn with all the defenses you got.

If not, I have plenty of ideas for the other topic and make more fun : reduce time of emp mines, put heist away, reduce the perimetre of the betties, fix the deadsilence with the clay. Put some speed to the 'speedlight' perk?

The tricky thing is finding the fine line between balancing ALL of the weapons and Perks (Every weapon and Perk Needs to have a counter) and giving the people that play the mod what they want. Asking people what they would like to see in the mod can be challenging BUT it needs to happen regardless of what the person making the mod or game "thinks" would be better for the Mod or Game.

Opinions are like assholes eh? lol But they are needed for the better of the Community. It's OK to make certain compromises for game balancing. But Community input is NEEDED for the better of the whole Community especially when the one making the mod or game doesn't actually play the damn thing? Sorry it had to be said. 

Like the SMR being the most accurate and 1 of the quickest firing guns that has Zero recoil and Zero Sway when aiming down it's sights. Instead of nerfing the shit out of it's fire rate multiple times? give it the same recoil that the HK416 has. It will balance not only that gun but the whole weapon class. And the SMR is supposed to be a Medium range weapon not a sniper rifle. It should have limited effectiveness at range. Rite now it has better range than most of the sniper rifles.

If I remember right, there is a stand alone program that admins can use to watch players with out joining the game. I have no idea if they use it here or not. I feel maybe they should from time to time. That would remove the question of ... well they stopped using it because you dropped to spec. 

Honestly,  I think most of the people that get accused of hacking, actually don't. And a lot of people who like to accuse everyone. But not take the time to drop to spec and make a video or perhaps don't know how. I've seen a lot of Hack-utaions over the years playing FPS games. Some people will say someone is hacking every single time they died.. like themselves are impossible to kill or something so if someone does, they're obviously hacking!... My youngest son is well known for that. Lmao!

That's just my opinion though.
