On Sept 18, @Sitting-Duc felt free to lock down my post ... not about the vax or covid, but about what was happening in my life as a result of Covid.  I thought it was total BS for him to do that ... so I closed my XI tab and left for a month.  

I come back tonight and the top post is 'Mandated' which is WAY worse than my thread.  But @Sitting-Duc lets it go.  Makes me wonder why?

I see people I really like in game saying the most stupid shit on the forum and I find myself thinking of them differently.  I don't want that.

So until there is some sort of even moderation happening on the forums, or until Covid is over, I'm not going to visit the forums.  

It's too bad ... the forums are where we can develop friendships and relationships by showing a bit of our lives and having some fun banter.  (Even you @Sourtap)  Oh well. Back to in-game convo's only.

I wrote out several responses to this post, but deleted most. It's hard to answer some of your questions but I will try and be honest. 

I felt free to lock your thread on the technicality that people had got to the point of 'personal attacks' and multiple 'reports'. Personally I would have liked to delete it - but ya know.. I do believe in some aspect of "freedom of speech".

You wonder why I let the 'Mandated' one go? I hadn't read it until 12/10 12:30 my time when Rugger asked our thoughts on it. At that point my response was it was utter bullshit, the thread and content annoys me and some other expletives. However it was not yet a "real problem" so suggested leave as is. I have not read it since as I know the content will annoy me. So yes that is 'why' I have let it go, other seniors are aware and can step in when they feel the time is right.

It's fair to not visit the forums, sad but makes sense. I also haven't been visiting the forums as much as I used to due to these types of topics.

Anyway - hope that helps you understand. You probably won't agree and will find fault. But that's life - full of fault.

I am sure all agree that covid has stressed out everyone everywhere. And it shows. Funny though how all the arguments revolve around human-made concepts of 'freedom', 'fairness' or 'rights' that only exist in our minds. When deciding how things would otherwise be (not currently are) you have to assume no medical care. No hospitals. No doctors. No antibiotics. No such thing as cold and flu medicine. Nor any of that for whatever other medical conditions you may have. Of course many places in the world fit that description. But also, from the beginning no lock downs. No travel bans. No quarantines. No social distancing. No max occupancy. And of course no masks. Just the individual body vs the virus. Where would we be now? When we cant even come to an agreement on that answer it shows we are in trouble as a species.

you believe in "some aspect of" freedom of speech?...no,you don't,otherwise you wouldn't have taken his post down.It's like the radio or TV you don't like it, change the station or channel.I agree with Yoshi that it's bullshit.Some aspects...lmao! so,you take it upon yourself to dissect freedom of speech to your liking...hhmmmm, sounds like censorship to me..."you" felt "free" to lock it down and yes.in this case "You" are at fault.I don't agree with or am interested in, everything people post or write about on the forums and I simply read the ones that I am interested in or catch my attention and even then don't like or agree with everything said or talked about.Why have a forum section when senior admins can ban or remove content,just on their personal feelings or beliefs....that's like living in China or Russia or any fascist,communist country....where do you live Duck? I find most if not all locked or deleted post's are because they turn into personal verbal attacks on each other. Duc ,Rugger all the senior admins make hard decisions when they decide to lock a thread down. There unpleasant to do just as they are unpleasant to read. 

  When a post goes wild and the answers and comments get crazy I am happy there are a few who are willing to monitor it. It what keeps us grounded as a group of people who can say what we think and feel. 

 Now again the world is not flat its bowl shaped.

Dialog is good and informative from there you are capable of making a logical decision based on what you think is right for you there should be no fighting we all are reasonable humans
