  I agree some polling should be done before a change is pushed. Less changes at a time to get accurate feedback and less of a bitch fest would help. I say only look for changes when there is a bug or the community is pushing for it.  When changes are done announce them on the forums (if that isn't being done already) then wait for the feedback. The feedback will be taken and if it is an improvement great. If not some tweaks can made or revert to what worked before. There are countless and thankless hours being put in development I'm sure. Maybe thank the guy working on it then give the feedback instead of just ripping it. The process in which changes are happening can be improved and I'm sure it will. I also agree that I don't want the mod going soft core in any shape or form.

I would FAR prefer Sammie's valuable time development time was spent in preventing "legal" hacks used by some sad fuckers (and we all know who you people are) on the >XI< MW2 server. For example seeing through foliage, reducing max packets so you cannot be hit by a bullet, fixing an FPS for everybody on the server at one level, anti stick commands typed into console during a game play for all to see, disabling binds for anything outer than text insults to one another, reducing the hit box, etc ,etc ,etc..

In summary leveling the playing field for EVERYBODY who plays... IF that cannot be achieved then publish the known "legal" hacks for ALL to use

The most interesting one I have see recently was the player who started to lag as soon as I started to shoot at them! Now that must have taken some work!

I think these things have cost >XI< many more players than messing with an already EXCELLENT Mod.. Thank you very much for that Sammy..

We removed it because everyone was getting kicked from the game, not because of hacks, just because of other errors and communication issues

This has come up time and time again and it will not provide any noticeable impact other than causing legitimate players to be unable to connect and play on our servers with no issues. 

These are the statistics that we used to make the decision to disable PunkBuster back in March 2017:

ahhh i see...so cant we set everything to run default on server..so there is no console tweaking? i use console tweaks but its cuz everyone else does so i wanna even out..back in cod2 we jus used snaps and rate..thats it..jus wonderin if we can fix the whole console issue by makin everyone run default as max  :cat:

BUT, it will limit the FPS, config tweeks, correct?  This is what i have heard the most complaints about for at least the past two years.  As a former admin, I'd much rather hear people complain about the not connecting thing much more than the complaints about tweeking out the foliage etc by certain players  IMO

You used to be able to use Punkbuster to ensure that CVARs were within defined parameters and if not kick for it. However it is now an unsupported application and as users can no longer install it without manual steps and as the Punkbuster servers are now disabled it cannot be used. 

We have only ever had CVAR checks enabled at one point in time for a few months and it didn't do much. 

I will not be a part of putting the last nail in the coffin of COD4 and this community.

The "last nail"?  Is our COD4 community dying?  It sure seems to me that the server is almost full every time I look at it.  It also seems like every week we are adding a new member that plays COD4.  I hardly think it is dying.  The only connectivity problem I have seen is when someone gets a new computer and has to reinstall punkbuster.  If we had a simple step by step tutorial for these people then it would be a non-issue.  But whatever..........

Call me stupid or an Idiot.... But I play the game as the developers intended i never change anything if trees and bushes were put into a map it means they put hundreds of hours of hard work and thought into the map to give us an amazing game.

For Me this is a classic game that was so amazing when it first came out why would I spoil it now.... And to be honest for those that do they have no skill they are not world class players they are just CHEATS who can not stand to lose.

And the excuse of WELL IF THEY DO I WILL TOO sorry does not wash with me....As i have told my kids numerous times IF YOUR FRIEND JUMPED INTO A FIRE WOULD YOU BE STUPID ENOUGH TO FOLLOW.

Grow up stop being so competitive AND BLOODY HAVE FUN .. 

I used to love crawling around maps getting defrosts a few years ago from one end of a map to the other but now thats impossible because of people who feel the need to cheat and remove the foliage .....

Yep it's dying.. we have seen the trends for a while - it's not a negative just what's happening... Check the player drop off rates for the COD series over the last two months, we have only had 502 unique players in the past week. 

The Punkbuster stats I posted had the connectivity info in there compared to those that had gone through a reinstall for example. The auto update errors are those that have reinstalled the game after the master servers were shut down, that was over 1000 affected players over the two years on those two servers. 

The 8405 kicks for com issues are for those that had COMs issues between the server and the client. That's averaging 11 kicks a day.

We do make informed decisions where possible.

Numbers dropped during changes and DDos attack in my opinion..

Mw2 always has a great traffic.Its the folks that play the game..NOT the fking game it self, that make it fun..

P.s. Game changes are like life changes..Adjust to it or get run over . People bitching about the Duke are the ones that NEVER even got one lol.
